Microsoft Business Central - Project

Project

Within BC, projects can be carried out as ongoing or fixed price projects. The project is divided into activities and resources are planned against the activities for implementation. During the course of the project, time consumption/products consumed within the project are recorded for invoicing.

Resources

The company's resources can consist of personnel or machines that you wish to use within the projects in Business Central. The resources are registered with name/description as well as specifying costs for the resource, in addition to this you can group the resources into groups.

Project activities

The project is divided into activities that must be carried out within the project, this can e.g. be analysis, development, training and delivery to the customer.

The times and products that are used within the activities are continuously booked and constitute Products In Work (PIA) until they are invoiced

Capacity planning

The resources registered in Business Central are covered with costs, prices and capacities.

The capacity is then used in the planning of projects and production so that you neither overbook nor underbook the resources you have available

Project budget

Project budgeting within the project module in Business Central allows you to book a budget against each activity within the project.
Through the project budget, you get quick and efficient control over your projects so that those you exceed the set budget

Products In Progress (PIA)

The times and products reported within the project in Microsoft Busiiness Central are collected in a function called Products In Work (PIA).

The PIA reports consumption within the project and then forms the basis for future invoicing

Create/copy project

In order to more quickly create projects in Business Central before implementation, there is a function for copying projects, they can be previously executed projects or from templates you have built up for specific projects and activities

Time reporting

Time reporting takes place through a time report in Business Central. In the time report, the employees state what projects they have worked towards and with which activity. The times are thus transferred to the respective projects where they are then invoiced

In Microsoft Business Central Project there are additional functions such as e.g. preparation of PIA within projects as well as invoicing, payment plans, comparison against set budget.
